ltr">Please join us to celebrate the launch of The Foundry as a nonprofit organization!

We have taken this unique opportunity to honor Shannon McMahon Lichte— enthusiastic, longtime supporter of The Foundry; champion of the arts; philanthropist; and friend to many in the Berkshire community and beyond by formally naming the black-box theater, The Shannon McMahon Lichte Theater.

The celebration will include a cocktail hour with passed hors d’oeuvres from No Comply Foods in the lobby, a live auction, a dance party with DJ Sören Smedvig of Windswept Sound, and short performances from:

Molly Murphy Weinberg: emerging singer-songwriter, videographer, and Foundry Emerging Artist Series alum
Noh Bailey: emerging writer, director, singer-songwriter, and current Creative Managing Director of The Foundry
Emily Braden: powerhouse vocalist, songwriter and lyricist; winner of New York City’s “Best of the Best” Jazzmobile Vocal Competition; a two-time cultural ambassador with the U.S. Embassy’s Arts Envoy Program
Cady Huffman: exceptional actress and singer best known for her Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critic Circle Award winning performance as “Ulla” in The Producers on Broadway, opposite Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick

This event launches a $100,000 year-end fund drive campaign, The Foundry Future Fund that will provide essential funding for The Foundry’s inaugural season as a nonprofit, supporting live performances, artist residencies, new work development, and educational initiatives.

About Shannon McMahon Lichte
Shannon McMahon Lichte was a resident of Berkshire County, who dedicated her time, energy, and philanthropy to The Foundry from its inception in 2019. From volunteering, helping to produce digital content during the Covid-19 pandemic, to championing young artists on our stage, the early success of our venue is in no small part due to her devoted spirit.

Shannon’s career in the arts spans many decades through stints of supervising and field producing for reality TV shows, serving as a producing partner at GADA Film’s Our Very Own, starring Allison Janney, Keith Carradine, Cheryl Hines and Jason Ritter, to working in development on Sandra Bullock’s production company, Fortis Films. She was also an actor and a proud graduate and subsequently a board member of The Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC.

She wrote and directed the feature length film Waking The Wild Colonials featuring young Berkshire actors filmed across many towns throughout the county, providing a launching point for many of the young performers’ emerging careers.

Shannon will long be remembered by our community for her maximalist broaches, statement necklaces, and larger than life personality which she brought to the room each time she came to support the artists on our stage.
